Our main concern with regard to the 2nd European Football Fans’ Congress was to provide convenient conditions and a quality of organisation that could make it as easy as possible for football supporters from all over Europe to take part in the event!

Football fans usually spend loads of money every month following their team throughout the country and Europe, we therefore tried to keep your costs around this Fans’ Congress as low as possible!

But unfortunately, we’re not millionaires either...

Conference Charges

Participation in the 2nd  European Football Fans’ Congress of the FSE was free of charge! 
To take part you only had to register for the conference in advance and sign in at the registration desk at the Volksparkstadion.

Framework Programme

We provided a broad range of events as part of a framework programme around the actual conference taking place over the whole weekend.

There were informal meetings in football pubs on Friday and Sunday night for all participants who were already or still in Hamburg as well as things like guided stadium-tours, or fan friendly matches and a bigger event on Saturday night.

Food & Beverages

Food and a variety of beverages at the conference venue was provided free of charge to all participants.

Travel & Accommodation

 The 2nd European Football Fans’ Congress (EFFC) took place at the Volksparkstadion (currently called HSH-Nordbank-Arena) which is the home ground of Hamburg SV located in the North-West of Hamburg.

Nearest tube stations:  STELLINGEN (Line S21 - wine-red line, or Line S3 - purple line)

Unfortunately, we were not able to offer accommodation free of charge to all participants. Likewise we weren't able to cover the travel costs of all participants.

Instead, we tried to find several options which were located at a convenient distance from the conference venues and hopefully satisfied the needs of participants, especially they travelled on a budget:

•  Schanzenstern, Barthelstrasse 12, Hamburg

A budget Hostel with very good overall ratings located near STERNSCHANZE station.

Dorm Beds are available from 19€ per person per night

Four Bed Private Rooms are 64€ per room per night

Double Rooms are available from 54€ per room per night

Single Rooms are available from 38,50€ per room per night.

The restaurant and several rooms are fully accessible for wheelchair users.

              Breakfast is NOT included (available from 4,50€)

• Backpackers St.Pauli, Bernstorffstrasse 98, Hamburg

Nice and well-rated backpacker hostel near HOLSTENSTRASSE and STERNSCHANZE stations and FELDSTRASSE tube station.

Dorm Beds are available from 19,50€ per person per night

Twin Rooms from 30€ per person per night

• Meininger City Hostel & Hotel Hamburg, Goetheallee 9-11, Hamburg

A highly recommended hostel near ALTONA and HOLSTENSTRASSE stations

Double Rooms from 32€ per person per night

• St.Pauli Lodge & Thaden 88, Thadenstrasse 88 & 94, Hamburg

Very nice Bed & Breakfast with excellent ratings between STERNSCHANZE, HOLSTENSTRASSE and  FELDSTRASSE tube stations .

Single rooms are available from 28€ per person per night

Double rooms are available from 48€ per room, per night.

Breakfast is not included (available from 7€ p.p.)

• Stadthaus-Hotel, Holstenstrasse 118, Hamburg

An excellent integrative hotel with disabled and non-disabled people working there and fully accessible rooms for wheelchair users and other access needs.

Single rooms are available from 74,-€ per person per night.

Double rooms are available from 99,-€ per room per night.
